DRYER VENTS.....the hidden danger

Do you experience long running times or problems drying your clothes? If so, it may be a situation where your dryer vent is clogged.

Yesterday I ran across a woman in an apartment building who had this problem. Being a newer tenant and all, she had no idea if her dryer vent was ever cleaned before she moved in. The vent was extremely clogged and was indeed a fire hazard.

Lint is extremely flammable. Most condo associations require vent cleaning every one or two years. In an apartment building you can have a clean vent and still lose your home because another tenant didn't have theirs cleaned.

I clean mine several times a year and I have a relatively short vent length. If you can't remember the last time it was done, then it should be done ASAP. This is something as important as changing batteries in smoke detectors.

Have your vent cleaned regularly and keep safe.
